When you add a 6th staff member, you move to Tier 1 (RM99/month or USD39/month for up to 20 staff). As your team crosses 20 staff, you move to Tier 2, and at 50+ staff to Tier 3. Each tier is a flat monthly or annual fee — not per-staff. So your cost doesn't jump every time you hire someone new.
When a staff member is onboarded, they register their face once. Punchual stores a secure AI descriptor (not the photo itself) in the database. On every punch-in, the camera takes a selfie and the on-device AI compares the face against the stored descriptor — in under a second. If the match confidence is below the threshold, the punch-in is rejected. This happens on-device, so it works without an internet round-trip and cannot be bypassed by using someone else's phone.
No. This was a known loophole in many attendance apps — and we closed it. When a punch-in is saved to our database, Google's servers record the exact UTC timestamp at that moment. Within seconds, a server-side Cloud Function recalculates whether the punch was on time using that server timestamp — completely ignoring whatever the phone's clock says. So if a staff member sets their phone back 30 minutes, the server still records the true punch-in time and flags it as late.
Punchual runs three location checks before accepting a punch-in: (1) it checks whether a mock location provider is active on the device, (2) it flags GPS readings with suspiciously low accuracy, and (3) it compares the current position against the previous one — if the staff member has "teleported" an impossible distance in a short time, the punch is blocked. All three checks must pass. If any fails, the punch-in is rejected with an explanation — no data is recorded.
